M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2018

If there’s an opportunity to start the Christmas festivities early, I’m the first to sign up. I’ve got the decorations ready and waiting – reluctantly and patiently until the 1st of December I’ll add, the Christmas meals and secret Santas organised and I bought ‘Christmas day’ shoes all the way back in July. I love it. I love the whole goddamn, shiny thing.

It’s no surprise then, that I’m a firm believer that the traditional countdown to the big day should be a daily dose of Christmas magic. The introduction of the alternative advent calendar and it’s increasing adoption by my favourite brands has been music to my ears – the jingle bell kind of course.

This year there are even more of these spectacular calendars than ever, spanning across numerous industries, price points and all offering something uniquely fabulous. So to help you see the wood for the Christmas trees (I’ll stop now, I promise) I’ve selected my absolute favourites that have stood out to me this year and will be sharing them in the next series of posts!

What’s Inside

Already established as a cult beauty Advent Calendar, this years offering from M&S may just be their best calendar yet. Twenty five pretty boxes house an assortment of makeup, skincare and haircare products from their best-selling brands.

It’s a generous selection, with several full-sized products and some luxurious minis from brands such as Stila, Pixi and Nuxe. If you’re looking to revamp your current beauty routine and try out some incredible products, this is a great way to do so without breaking the bank. You’ll find some firm favourites, trust me.

I particularly love the way each product has been tailored to the dates of December. A radiant Leighton Denny red nail polish to kick start the party season? Number 8. Need a pick me up after all the shopping and champagne? Wonder Eye Cream by Balanceme is your new best friend in box 17. And number 25? I won’t spoil it, but it’s exactly what you need at the end of the busiest day of the year!

The Highlights

M&S have thoughtfully included everything you need for a new makeup look; Autograph Luminosity Luxe Multi Bronzer, Autograph Blusher Brush, Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara, Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner and Studio 10 Lip Perfecting Balm Gloss. So if you’re buying this as a gift for someone, that’s a full beauty look and then some!

A few more stand-outs..

Prai Ageless Throat & Décolletage Crème – in the MOST fabulous glittery pot

Pixi Rose Tonic – a cult product and from a brand I can’t rave about enough. It’s full size and retails at £10, so it’s a real gem to unbox!

Shay & Blue Black Tulip Natural Spray Fragrance – I own several of their fragrances, and they all smell incredible. This is perfect to pop in your handbag or flight carry on too.

Nuxe Luxurious Body Cream – it’s one of the most luxe products in the calendar, and a generous miniature given it’s £45 price tag. A real treat for skin during the colder days.

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray – a favourite with beauty editors and bloggers, this lavender scented pillow spray reduces sleep associated anxiety and aids a good nights rest. Perfect for the most hectic month of the year!

 Perfect for…

The beauty devotee who will often get lost amongst the makeup counters, enthralled by the selection and lathered in every lotion and ointment sample she can get her hands on.

She might be a beauty-pro that already has an envious vault of products at her finger tips, but she’s always seeking out something new. Or she’s the woman who deserves IT ALL, but treats everyone else first and would be completely beside herself with all these luxe brands to enjoy.
