Darling Collars

Have you ever come across an item of clothing or an accessory that you just feel was made for you, as if you’ve found your soul mate? For me, my other half sits delicately around my neck and has been doing so since before I could even talk. They adorn most little girls with frilly edges and innocent, round corners and yet to this day they can be worn with studded denim or vintage 80’s leather.
 Collars, darling collars.
You are just simply lovely.
For me the great collar is the pièce de résistance of any outfit and I am more then happy to admit I wear a peter pan collar nearly every day. I must also admit that I’m a lovesick fool for collars and if I see one in a shop – its instantly got my undivided attention. And if its chic and embellished with pearls, its already in my shopping bag.
I found this gem in ZARA, Oxford Circus a couple of weeks ago and I instantly feel in love. The details are stunning and it’s not just a normal tie-around-the-neck collar, its a structured shirt collar that can enhance any look. Whilst I stood in the mirror admiring the collar over my navy jumper (granny chic just got glam) I overheard a member of staff saying there were only two left in the shop and they wouldn’t be getting any more in. With one already around my neck, I asked a member of staff for the second, like a greedy child with chocolate all over her face. I didn’t even know what I was going to do with two, maybe I could give one to a friend or my sister? or Save it incase the other one breaks? It was irrelevant. I hoisted the collars, dresses, shoes and bag onto the till before giving my bank account one final kick in the stomach. That day, was a good day.
After pondering what to do with the second collar I finally decided to sell it on eBay to somebody else. I received so many messages from my lovely followers on tumblr asking where they could get it from and it was heartbreaking to tell them it was sold out. I’m hoping this beautiful collar can find a new, loving home and I am very pleased to inform my followers that it is up for auction now.
Click here for the link to it! – I am having a massive clear out prior to Christmas and will be listing new items everyday, so take a look at my other items as well 🙂
I cannot even emphasise how special this piece is and it is completely understandable why its sold out. I treasure mine greatly and it’s already got it’s own place on my book shelf; perched between perfumes and Chanel books, over looking my room like its the crown jewels. I am planning to wear it at Christmas, perhaps in the evening when my family and I are sat round playing board games, drinking port and devouring cheeses. Thats definitely a time when I don’t want to be wearing party dresses and heels so with my collar I can be comfy and still sparkle!
Oh, collars.
