The Mermaid of Caves Beach

Nestled away in Swansea, New South Wales, lies a dynamic coast line known as Caves Beach. The playfully ominous waves have provided a labyrinth of deep, echoing caves and endless rock pools that are bursting with colourful specks of life.

One of my favourite days in Australia was spent exploring these caves, leaping from one rock to another and watching the immense ocean dominate the land with ruthless force and intricate complexity. In stark comparison to the graceful rhythm of Lake Macquarie, the writhing shades of aquamarine and sapphire mightily crashed against the rugged stone and intrusively billowed into every crevice, leaving streams of white chaos in its wake. It is ever-changing, merciless and yet so wondrous and calming to watch. The ocean is a magnificent energy. 
 
My outfit of the day was a far more serene picture. Sea salt hair, sandy toes, a peach bikini and a vibrant beach dress from Monsoon. It is part of their ‘ARTISAN’ collection that promotes traditional, age-old crafts as well as fair trade ethics. This dress was hand-block printed using a technique passed down through generations. It’s a dream to wear in front of the cerulean backdrop.
