There’s something so enjoyable about discovering a tool that encourages self-improvement and there’s certainly a lot packed into this device. It connects to your phone via bluetooth so keeping an eye on your brushing habits can be easily and effortlessly integrated into your everyday routine.
The free Philips Sonicare app tracks that all important data such as how long you spend on brushing, if you’re using the right motion and pressure and it even highlights missed areas on a 3D diagram of your teeth. The toothbrush comes with 4 different brush heads, and the app recognises each one and guides you accordingly.
I’ve used electric toothbrushes before, but this one certainly commands attention. The vibrating sensations inside your mouth are definitely more powerful then other brushes I’ve used and you can really feel it working against your teeth and gums.

Toothbrushes, by nature rarely win the Bathroom award for ‘So the Guests Can See It.’ But the Philips DiamondClean Smart is in a rather magnificent league of its own. This is a big plus for me! The considered design extends across each product included in the kit and perfectly reflects my lifestyle. Goodbye clunky, ugly chargers! For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been using the Philips charging glass that now proudly sits pride of place by my mirror.
The glass sits on a silver charging base allowing me to quickly place my toothbrush inside it, without having to fuss around with wires and teeny, tiny sockets. It’s ideal for those out-the door-in-five mornings!

I’ve been using the deep clean function and my teeth already feel smoother, fresher and cleaner!
4. PERSONALISE YOUR BRUSHING EXPERIENCE
There are a number of ways that this Toothbrush delivers a bespoke experience, but one of my favourite features is being able to highlight my problem areas specifically to different areas of my mouth. My gums can get sensitive so being able to highlight this prior to brushing ensures I’m doing minimal harm and more TLC.
5. MOTIVATION AND REMINDERS
A little motivation can make a big difference when it comes to forming good habits and a healthy routine. One of the things I love about the app is it’s helpful hints, tips and reminders throughout the day and when you’re brushing.
When I first started using the Philips Smart Toothbrush, I suddenly realised how often I used to rush through brushing my teeth. Watching the timer count down and the friendly reminders pop-up on the app gives me peace of mind that it’s a job well done.
