Gift Guide | Foodie and Cocktail Edit

Get ready to indulge! My favourite gift guide of the season is here and it’s bursting with irresistible chocolates, merry bakes and lashings of alcohol – basically all the good stuff.

If somebody on your list counts cafes as second homes, has an Instagram feed of cappuccinos from above and a sorry looking advent calendar that made it to day 4 (Hello, my name is Jenna and I am this person), then you’ve found yourself on just the right page. Of all the gift guides I create, this is the most fool proof – you just can’t go wrong with something edible and/or boozy. Bonus points for both. I’ve been hard at work testing *hic* and putting together my seasonal foodie must haves. So whether it’s for loved ones, Christmas day guests or for yourself, there’s plenty to choose from. Rejoice in the season where calories don’t count!

The Classic Christmas Chocolate Sleekster

Hotel Chocolat / £22.95 / Available here

This dreamy chocolate tray includes 30 of Hotel Chocolats best-selling festive flavours and a few familiar classics too. The mulled wine, champagne, berry crumble and clementine truffles are particular favourites of mine and the delicious characters add a playful element to the collection. Hotel Chocolat have several sleeksters available, from Christmas pudding flavours to boozy chocolates. Guess which one I’m going for next?

Baileys Chocolate Luxe

When this first came onto the scene, it instantly cemented itself as a Christmas essential. Whilst the original is still a familiar favourite on the big day, the Chocolate edition takes Baileys to a whole new level. Whip it into recipes, pour it over your mince pies (highly recommended) or just enjoy it as it is. It’s the crème da la crème of Christmas tipples.

Baileys / £18 /   Available here

Chocolate Prosecco and Strawberries

Prezzybox / £12.99 / Available here

An unexpected and fabulous alternative to a bottle of bubbly, this gift set from Prezzybox is almost too pretty to eat…she says, biting into the last white chocolate strawberry. The edible gold bottle foil and the detail on the strawberries makes the gift extra special and it’s a great way to get you bubbliest of friends something different.

The Old Curiosity Secret Garden Gin – Lavender And Echinacea

Prezzybox / £35.99 / Available here

One of the more unusual gins, Lavender makes for a surprisingly refreshing, sparky and moreish flavour. It’s a great choice for that person who works their away across the gin bottles at your local, no matter what bazaar and wonderful flavour is inside. If they’ve taken a liking to rose, Parma violet or even rhubarb gins, then they’ll like this one. It’s also looks a little magical don’t you think? Like it’s straight out of the potions cupboard at Hogwarts.

Walkers Shortbread Mince Pies

Walkers / Range available here

My family have always had Walkers shortbread around at Christmas time.  We’re either nibbling on it throughout the count down or including it in one of those substantial dinners between Christmas and New Year. Walker’s Christmas range also means it’s incredibly giftable, with Christmas tree tins, festive biscuit collections and shortbread stars available. Perhaps the best known secret of all is Walkers Mince Pies – which stand out above the rest each and every year. These Luxury Spiced Orange and Cranberry Mince Pies and the Glenfiddich Whisky Mince Pies are irresistibly delicious and would make merry hamper essentials.

One Gin

One Gin / £30 – £55 / Available here

Christmas time is centred on love and generosity, and many people choose this time of the year to give a little something back. One Gin perfectly combines festive good will with the merriment of gin, which makes this such a thoughtful gift to get a loved one.

One Gin is not only hypnotically delicious (aromatic sage, juniper, citrus and orange marmalade notes), but 10% of all profits go towards water projects in the worlds poorest communities. It’s such a fantastic initiative, and as someone who ‘may’ buy a fair few gin bottles a year, this is such a lovely way to turn something indulgent into something charitable and heartfelt.

The Nutcracker Biscuit Tin

The Biscuiteers / £35 / Available here

One of my favourite gifts this year is the Biscuiteers dreamy Nutcracker collection. It’s all the charms of Christmas; enchanting and delicious. The hand-decorated biscuits are housed in the most beautiful traditional tin box, illustrated around the side with wonderful details from the classic story. Inside are three layers of delicate designs, from pretty ballerinas to toy soldiers dressed in red military jackets with glistening gold buttons. An intricate snowflake, frosted Christmas tree and bright, jubilant sweets also await to be devoured. The Biscuiteers carefully deliver biscuits straight to your (or your lucky recipients) door and every collection has a shelf life of 2 months, so they’re very giftable.

Brushed Gold Barware

VonChef / £14.99 – £19.99 / Available here

It’s no surprise that I love adding gold elements to every area of my life and home, especially if I can use it when I’m hosting. As soon as I saw VonChef’s brushed gold collection, I just knew it was the perfect addition to my barware over the festive period. The drinks tray, highball glasses and cocktail set make any cocktail truly glamorous, and perfect for taking your party drinks to the next level. A truly brilliant gift for the hostess with the mostess!
